The implementation of national policies on carbon emission and carbon neutral will definitely impact the production and sales of vehicles running on fuel oil, thus promoting new energy vehicles (NEVs) in a rapid manner. It is expected that the global NEV ownership will exceed 100 million in 3 to 5 years based on NEV development in the past few years and the multiplication of the sales of NEVs.

The production capacity of new energy lithium battery equipment entered the TWh era in 2021, and this means that NEVs have changed from policy-based market to demand-oriented market. 80% of the power batteries were made with the winding process in the previous years, but this proportion has been shrinking every year since 2020. Based on the technologies employed by major battery manufacturers in 2021, the installed capacity of laminated batteries will probably overtake that of wound batteries in 2023.Currently, the stacking processes most frequently employed by the lamination stacking machines at home and abroad are Z-folding and swing folding. With the latter mainly used in South Korea, the former is the major process used in China. Given the increasingly large sizes of new energy batteries and the increasingly high requirements for speed and accuracy, Z-folding can better satisfy the requirement of the stacking technology.
